State Approved Group Monitoring Programs (GMP)

NEST operates a State of California Water Board approved Group Monitoring Program for vehicle dismantlers throughout northern and Southern California. Our initial program was approved and in operation before the 1997 General Permit was issued. Group members sample twice in five years.

Individual Monitoring Program (IMP)

NEST also provides individual storm water monitoring programs for businesses that either do not qualify for a group program or choose to participate as individuals. Individual businesses need to sample water twice every year.

NEST provides each business with a written Storm Water Monitoring Plan in a 3-ring binder. It contains user friendly, site specific forms, quarterly and monthly, for recording visual observations of non-storm water and storm water discharges, a map indicating the discharge locations, the site specific annual comprehensive site compliance evaluation (ACSCE) form. We also supply storm water sampling kits with training and instruction and a certified laboratory to perform the analysis. An understandable interpretation of the laboratory's report and recommendations are prepared and sent within a few weeks to every client that samples.
