NEST as Group Program manager performs and documents at least two audits in five years for each of its Group members. It submits the audit results to the Regional Water Board.
An audit reviews compliance documents (NOT, SWPPP, visual monitoring records, laboratory reports, BMPs, and the site/facility map).
NEST has developed an audit check-sheet of Best Management Practices for each of the sources/activities at the facility to use in the audit. We call in advance to make appointment with the operator, share the results of the audit with the operator, and provide a copy of the audit and recommendations for the site.
A site assessment is an inspection of all potential sources/activities of potential pollutants, Best Management Practices in operation versus needed, and currency of the site/facility map.
NEST performs site assessments at you request, identifies BMPs where necessary to reduce/eliminate potential pollutants at the source and at discharge locations, and updates the site/facility map if needed.
